  2. Oceans • Earth's oceans are saltwater and completely surround a continent. • Oceans are the largest bodies of water on earth.

  3. Seas • Earth's seas are saltwater and the land surrounds most or all of a sea. • Seas are also very large, but not as large as an ocean.

  4. Rivers • Rivers are mostly freshwater. • Rivers are constantly moving in a zigzag line. • Rivers empty into seas or oceans.

  5. Streams • Streams are freshwater. • The water in streams is constantly moving. • The water in streams flows into rivers. • Streams are smaller than rivers.

  6. Lakes and Ponds • Lakes and ponds are freshwater. • Lakes are larger than ponds. • People use lakes for fishing, swimming and boat riding. • Ponds are mostly used for fishing and swimming.

  9. Glaciers • Glaciers are solid ice. • They are huge sheets of ice that move a few inches a year. • They are found where it is extremely cold like the North and South Pole.
