  8. The Test: Where’s Waldo?

  9. Reflections… • How might “Looking for Waldo” resemble some aspects of assessment practices? • How did it feel when you knew where to “look” for Waldo in a new problem? (2nd or 3rd example) • How did it feel on test day? • Have you ever heard students say, “We never studied that?” Does this activity help to explain why students might say that? • What could we do to reduce the chance of this happening on PSSA testing dates?

  10. Analyzing WASD 2010 PSSA Data • eMetric(https://solutions1.emetric.net/PSSA/Main.aspx) • Select Report: PSSA Only • Graphical Summary: Reporting Categories (2010, Grade 5: Choose WASD, Cochran, Hepburn, All) • Group Summary: Reporting Categories & Anchors (2010, Grade 5: Choose WASD, calculate percentages

  11. What Did You See? • Turn to a neighbor and share what you saw in eMetric when we revealed the PSSA results (each Reporting Category) for all schools at the same time. What thoughts did you have? • Do any other measures – 4Sight, for example – also reveal the same needs in Grade 5?

  12. WASD Grade 5 Math Targets • Measurement (M5.B.1 & M5.B.2) • Geometry (M5.C.1 & M5.C.2) How can we drill down further into these Anchors to identify specific learning goals?
