  1. Erickson’s MRO expertise with S-61 / SH3 helicopters comes from owning six S-61N’s for six years. Four were leased to a South African Air Taxi Service. Two were employed for Aerial Construction tasks within North America.

  2. In 1999, Erickson Air-Crane secured a contract from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Aero Bureau for the inspection and refurbishment of three SH-3H Sea King helicopters, previously owned and operated by the U.S. Navy. Erickson inspected, refurbished, and assisted the L.A. County Sheriff’s Aero Bureau in converting the helicopter airframes from military specifications to public use standards.
