This document explores the potential benefits of Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) for operational efficiency at Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG). By utilizing early and reliable time estimates, the airport can improve parking management, information dissemination to handlers, and communication with passengers, ultimately heightening customer satisfaction. Through the integration of accurate flight data inputs from airlines and ATC, as well as better resource allocation and management, CDG is positioned to become a central hub in the airport CDM process, enhancing collaboration among ATC, airlines, and handlers.

Vision for operational implementation An airport perspective
Potential benefits of CDM for CDG AIrport • With early and reliable time estimates : • Better parking management • Better information to handlers • Better information to passengers Satisfaction of the customer
Actual Airport information system 1/3 Air France Handlers SARIA Terminal Information system ATC
Actual airport information system (2/3) • Today, early automatic inputs of times and estimates • On arrival • from Airlines : STOT , EIBT • From ATC : ELDT • On departure • From airlines SOBT, EOBT • From ATC : clearance, ATOT • From CFMU : CTOT
Actual airport information system (3/3) • Manual inputs of times and estimates • ELDT, Taxiing Time, EIBT, AIBT • Outputs to airlines • EIBT and EIBT Alert (10 min before inblock time) • ALDT, ATOT • Stand allocation • Output to ATC • Stand allocation (just before landing) • Output to handlers • All actual and estimates flight information
Why SARIA isn’t actually a CDM information system • The information shared isn’t the best accuracy of each information • Mainly for ELDT, EIBT and EOBT • No daily procedures of collaboration • Input : • ATC : procurement of accurate ELDT • Airlines : procurement of accurate EIBT, TOBT • Accurate estimation of taxiing time and accurate calculated EIBT
What Leonardo experiment benefits? • Better ressources allocation • Better information for passengers and professionnals (handler, catring, fuel etc..) • Probably better management of disicing stations
What are Leonardo benefits? • Creation of our CDM unit, gathering • AF and some other important airlines • ATC • Collaboration with AF to look for the best information sharing • Link with ATC network is improved, and connexion with AMAN
Position of airport in CDM process • In Leonardo, at CDG, one-way connexion between airport information systems and DMAN/AMAN (ATC)… • …but airport is the contact point of all partners : ATC, airlines, handlers… • ….and the estimates needed by airport are useful for other partners (EIBT, TOBT, etc.) • Airport is well positioned to become the central point of the airport CDM process and systems
Conclusions • Leonardo has mostly an impact on airport parking management • Airport is the central point of the CDM process • Further CDM application : sending of airport related and ressources information
