READ: JUDGES 2:19 19 It came to pass, when the judge was dead, that they reverted and behaved more corruptly than their fathers, by following other gods, to serve them and bow down to them. They did not cease from their own doings nor from their stubborn way.

Strangers devour your land in your presence and it is desolate, as overthrown by strangers. WHAT DOES THE LORD ASK THEM? WHY DO THEY REVOLT MORE AND MORE? HOW COMPLETE IS THEIR SICKNESS? WHY ARE THEIR WOUNDS UN-ATTENDED? WHAT IS THE CONDITION OF THEIR CITIES?

READ: PROVERBS 20:30 30 Blows that hurtcleanse away evil, as do stripesthe inner depths of the heart. READ: JEREMIAH 2:30 30 In vain I have chastened your children. They received no correction. Your sword has devoured your prophetslike a destroying lion. READ: JEREMIAH 5:3 3 O LORD, are not Your eyes on the truth? You have stricken them, but they have not grieved. You have consumed them, but they have refused to receive correction. They have made their faces harder than rock. They have refused to return.

READ: JEREMIAH 8:5 5 Why has this people slidden back, Jerusalem, in a perpetual backsliding? They hold fast to deceit; They refuse to return. READ: JEREMIAH 44:16-17 16 As for the word that you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you! 17 But we will certainly do whatever has gone out of our own mouth, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out drink offerings to her, as we have done, we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem. For then we had plenty of food, were well-off, and saw no trouble.

READ: PSALMS 38:3 3 There is no soundness in my fleshBecause of Your anger, Nor any health in my bonesBecause of my sin. READ: HOSEA 5:13 13 When Ephraim saw his sickness and Judah saw his wound, Then Ephraim went to Assyria and sent to King Jareb. Yet he cannot cure you, Nor heal you of your wound.

READ: DEUTERONOMY 28:35 35 The LORD will strike you in the knees and on the legswith severe boilswhich cannot be healed: from the sole of your foot to the top of your head. READ: JEREMIAH 8:22 22 Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why is there no recovery for the health of the daughter of my people?

They have not been closed or bound up or soothed with ointment. WHY ARE THEIR WOUNDS UN-ATTENDED? READ: JEREMIAH 14:19 19 Have You utterly rejected Judah? Has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us so that there is no healing for us? We looked for peace, but there was no good; and for the time of healing and there was trouble. READ: EZEKIEL 34:4 4 The weak you have not strengthened, nor have you healed those who were sick, nor bound up the broken, nor brought back what was driven away, nor sought what was lost; but with force and cruelty you have ruled them.
