Landform Regions • There are many landforms in different geographic zones. • Mountains are very tall landforms and where there are mountains, plateaus are found too. • There are also other landform regions that are called hills and plains.
Climatic Regions The climate that the first nations went through were breezes of wind or sometimes strong winds. While the highlands had harsh precipitation, the lowlands had mostly party cloudy and sometimes sunny weather. The First Nations would mostly experience rain, winds, and sleet, sometimes snow too.
Natural Resources • The First Nations used raw materials from their environment. • They made armour, spears, swords, and all those weapons for hunting from trees, and animals. • The First Nations also made many other things like they got berries for medicine, bows, clothing, utensils, bowls, baskets, traps and more!
Animals • The First Nations hunted animals for game (meat and food). • They also came in large groups to do a seasonal event called Duck Hunting. • They even fished for different kinds of fish especially salmon for food. • The First Nations mostly hunted musk ox's and buffalos to make weapons out of them. • Most of the First Nations groups hunted near the forests and they would hunt them for food, shelter, and clothing. For example a caribou and a fox.
Vegetation Regions • Some of the groups lived in valleys where there were prairies and the soil was good for plants to grow. • Some of the First Nations vegetation regions were the Canadian Shield, St. Lawrence Lowlands, and more! • There are also trees called coniferous trees and they grow where there are long winters.
All Combined! • All these things are important to the First Nations lives. • The First Nations adapt to the different kinds of environments. • The resources that they make from raw materials are very useful. • Without having all these things in a specific way, the First Nation might not be able to survive.
