  1. What were the buildings like in London in 1666?

  2. These types of houses are called Tudor houses because that was the name of the time that they were built. • Some of these types of building still exist so we can look at photographs of them.

  3. They were build of wood and clay, and were squashed very close together. The upper floors of these buildings often leant over the bottom. How might this have affected how the fire spread?

  4. The streets in London in 1666 were very narrow and busy. Some of the buildings leant over so far you could lean out of the window and shake hands with the person from the house across the road!
