Addressing Hazardous Waste Management in Tillamook: Innovations and Challenges

Tillamook, Oregon, home to 25,250 residents and 32,000 cows, is experiencing increasing hazardous waste challenges. As the largest city in the area, with a growing permanent Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) facility on the Oregon Coast, we're seeing rising quantities and costs associated with waste management. Our innovative solutions include specific paint collection programs that allow residents to bring only paint for safe disposal. For more information, contact David McCall, Solid Waste Program Manager, at (503) 815-3975 or via email at dmccall@co.tillamook.or.us.
