  5. Learning Objectives – Module 1 • Supply Chain Management Fundamentals • Understand how successful supply chain management adds value to an organization • Learn how to develop a supply chain strategy that aligns with corporate strategy

Learning Objectives – Module 2 • Building Competitive Operations, Planning, and Logistics • Understand natural dynamics within the supply chain to optimize performance and profitability • Evaluate the process constraints and choices within global logistics to establish a plan linked to overall strategy

  7. Learning Objectives – Module 3 • Managing Customer and Supplier Relationships • Effectively use customer data to improve service performance and increase value to suppliers and customers • Understand the strategic importance of purchasing and supplier relationships

  9. Earning the CSCP Designation • Candidates must pass one comprehensive exam. • Four-hour duration • 175 multiple-choice questions • Certificate and credentials provided upon successful completion of exam • CSCP maintenance requirement

  10. Exam Eligibility Requirements • CPIM, CFPIM, CIRM, or C.P.M. designation plus two years of related business experience OR • Bachelor’s degree or international equivalent plus two years of related business experience OR • Five years of related business experience

  11. Related Business Experience • APICS defines “related experience” as work that is directly connected to some aspect of the supply chain. • This can include raw materials extraction, transportation and logistics, procurement, manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, retail, customer service, software design and support, and other areas that directly affect the supply chain. • Workers who operate transportation or materials moving equipment or machines or processing equipment that require an intermediate level of training would qualify.

  12. Related Business Experience (cont.) • Managers, officials, professionals, technicians, sales personnel, quality and quality control personnel, and skilled craft workers will generally be considered eligible. • Examples of experience that would not qualify include clerical and administrative support positions such as data entry, duplicating machine operator, file clerks, office machine operators, secretaries, telephone operators, order clerks and/or unskilled labor positions where the duties require little or no independent judgment or specialized training.

  13. Application Process • Candidate submits a completed application to APICS • Provides information on work and/or educational background • No documentation required with submission • Random audits conducted

  14. Application Process (cont.) • APICS notifies candidate of approval or denial • Candidate with approved application may register for exam • Application and registration deadlines TBA

  15. Preparing for the CSCP Exam The Memphis Chapter is offering the following Class Schedule for 2006/2007: • December 7, 2006 – March 8, 2007 to prepare for a March 24, 2007 exam date • March 15, 2007 – June 7, 2007 to prepare for a June 23, 2007 exam date • August 23, 2007 – November 15, 2007 to prepare for a December 8, 2007 exam date

Learning SystemOnline Components Online Tools include: • Pre-test to assess baseline knowledge • Practice test bank of more than 600 multiple-choice questions • Module-specific tests with immediate feedback on practice questions • Online glossary and e-Flashcards • Post-test measures progress and readiness for exam • Assigned to one individual per Learning System • One-year subscription
