All Saints Centre for Mission and Ministryworks in partnership with the dioceses of Chester, Liverpool and Manchester in the northwest, together with Derby and SouthweIl & Nottingham in the east Midlands plus Sodor & Man. We are looking for an exceptional colleague who will contribute fully to the development of our dispersed training community, the quality of its teaching and learning, its diversity and commitment to equality and inclusion and, under God, to the effectiveness of those who train for ministry with us.   3. The Church exists by mission as a fire exists by burning … … so training with All Saints means that mission runs through everything we do … ministry has to be missional

  4. Ministry belongs to the whole people of God … … so we involve in ministerial training Tutors Congregations Clergy and lay leaders

  5. Leadership begins with discipleship … … so we emphasise spiritual growth as well as Biblical knowledge Theological understanding Ministerial competence Developing gifts and skills Worship

  6. The context of ministry matters … so trainees … spend more time on placement than in the classroom make connections with real-life situations in Church and community learn to use theological reflection creatively have proper supervision and support as well as tuition

  7. Christian development is crucial … … so we help trainees to grow in their ability to focus on Christ understand themselves and others reflect theologically on what they experience apply the Bible to today’s circumstances lead others sensitively in worship, prayer, Bible study, pastoral care and nurturing faith

  8. Currently, All Saints is training nearly 60 Anglican ordinands about 120 Reader candidates 50 – 60 licensed Readers We are a dispersed, worshipping, learning, praying community

  9. Teaching takes place in … six regional evening training centres Liverpool, North Cheshire, Manchester Warrington, Mansfield, Tynwald Mill IOM three weekend study day centres Warrington, Clay Cross, Peel IOM residential study centres for ordinands in Cheshire, Liverpool, Leeds

  10. We work with our main partners … the Dioceses of Chester, Derby, Liverpool, Manchester Southwell & Nottingham, Sodor & Man the Free Church colleges based at Luther King House in Manchester our academic partners at the University of Chester, Liverpool Hope University and Durham University

  11. Partners provide … directors of studies to give students academic support and management tutors to teach with us across six dioceses chaplains for students and staff practical placements for students experienced ministers to supervise student placements

  12. Some Practicalities … small administrative team – 1 full-time + 2 part-time small management team – 4 colleagues from dioceses dispersed academic team – 40+ part time tutors who serve trainees in five regional teaching centres pastoral support – provided by a small number of chaplains placements – supervised by over 200 ministers

Vice Principal The person appointed will … join the Course Office team based in Warrington help lead the Course Management Team work directly with the Principal and deputise as required be responsible for student progress and support, quality assurance and enhancement, safeguarding, diversity and inclusion work directly with Directors of Studies, module leaders, tutors and students

Brief Job Description oversee day-to-day running of the course ensure compliance and develop best practice in all areas of its life research and promote diversity, equality and inclusion ensure academic quality and its enhancement responsible for safeguarding model good practice in ministry and working relationships

  15. Current Priorities developing the Common Awards in 2015 new patterns of Reader training mentoring for trainees improving support for tutors, supervisors and mentors developing the quality cycle

  16. Developing the Common Awards Diploma of HE based on our highly successful Foundation Degree BA and MA options Certificate of HE DProf with local university

Some Practical Constraints … • This post is subject to an occupational requirement under Part 1 of Schedule 9 to the Equality Act 2010 that the person appointed is an active communicant member of a church that is part of Churches Together in Britain and Ireland or of a church in full communion with the Church of England. • An acceptable DBS disclosure at enhanced level is required for this post. • Appointment is subject to the applicant’s eligibility for employment in the UK. • The post requires flexible working to provide teaching and support to students on weeknights, weekend study days, residential weekends and two week-long residential schools each year. • Access to your own transport is required
