The Origins of Country Blues: A Folk Tradition from the Rural South

The Country Blues, also known as rural or folk blues, emerged from the impoverished black workforce in the rural South and Delta region. Itinerant male folksingers would travel, sharing their music, which reflected their struggles and experiences. Despite its deep roots, this unique style of music was not recorded until the mid-1920s, preserving the essence of a cultural movement. The Country Blues paved the way for future musical genres and remains a significant part of American music history.
