AphasiaBank Research Study

Participate in an important research study aimed at creating an international multimedia database for studying language and communication in aphasia. We are seeking individuals with aphasia to help us through interactive tasks such as describing pictures, storytelling, and following instructions. Your participation will be videotaped, but rest assured that your identity will remain confidential in our secured database, accessible only to approved researchers.   1. AphasiaBank Research Study • Purpose: This study is designed to create an international multimedia database for the study of language and communication in aphasia • Participants: Persons with aphasia needed! • Tasks: Describe and name pictures, tell stories, tell how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, repeat words and sentences, answer questions, follow directions • Important: You will be videotape recorded while you are doing these tasks. The videotape (along with information about your stroke) will be put in a web-based (Internet) database. The database (called AphasiaBank) is password protected and only language researchers have access to it. You will be identified by code name – no one will know your name or other contact information (address, phone number, etc). • Interested?
