  3. Chartered in 1997 in response to 1996 Olympic Games • Currently 67 member organizations • 10 member Board of Directors • Public agencies, consultants, contractors, & academics • 5 Officers • Monthly Board Meetings and luncheons • Board Minutes available at www.itsga.org History & Organization

  4. Developed a broader ITS constituency by adding 10 new member organizations • Joined the “Get Georgia Moving” Coalition representing more than 50 groups across the state • Sponsored and endorsed the “Transportation Engineers of the Future” scholarship fund ITS GA Developments

  5. Currently covers 220 interstate miles • App. 400 CCTV cameras and 1,450 VDS stations • Cell phone probe detection data • 110 Changeable Message Signs (CMS) • 83 Ramp Meters (160 by mid-2009) • HEROs (Highway Emergency Response Operators): • 88 certified operators • Trained as first responders • Now on 30 routes (previously 21) • Patrols cover 280 interstate miles Current ITS Status in GA
