Inner swath of bottom panel represents TRMM radar rainfall. • NASA Relevance: Increase the knowledge of the product for use in studying climate variability and trends related to the global water and energy processes. • Accomplishments to date: • Completed development of GPROF 2008 for TRMM TMI • Started processing 11+ year TMI data record • Developed approach for intercalibration of radiometer constellation • Participated in radiometer calibration working group • Systems for accessing the RSS calibrated brightness temperature datasets in place. • Schedule (FY10): • Complete the generation of rainfall products from SSM/I, TMI, AMSR-E, WindSat and SSMIS for time period of 01/98-01/08 in the Tropics. • Quantify sensitivity of GCPC algorithm to radiometer calibration using L1B, L1C and RSS data. • Deliver algorithm theoretical basis document to Program Scientist. • Support community review of algorithm (led by Program Scientist). • Intercalibrate brightness temperature from radiometer constellation for period from 1/98-1/09.
