Headwaiter: Do you have a reservation? 有訂位嗎 Guest: Yes, a table for two at 7 p.m. Headwaiter: Let me confirm(確認) your reservation(訂位紀錄). May I have your name, please? Guest: It’s Sam Chen. Headwaiter: Just a moment. (After a minute) Sorry to keep you waiting. Mr. Chen. Your reservation is confirmed. A table for two in the nonsmoking section(區), right?

Enjoy your dinner. Guest: Thank you very much. Headwaiter: You’re welcome. (After a moment) Waitress: Hello. How are you today? Sorry to keep you waiting. My name is Jane. Clerk: Let me confirm(確認) your reservation again; a table at 6:30 p.m., right? Caller: That’s correct(正確的). Clerk: How many are there in your party(ㄧ夥人), Ms.? Caller: There’ll(=will) be the, including(包括) me.

Headwaiter: Oh, yes. Do you mind sharing a table with others? Guest A: Not at all(一點也不). Could you please arrange(安 排) a seat for me?

Are these seats occupied(有 人坐了)? Guest B: Yes, another party(ㄧ群人) will be sitting here. Headwaiter: Sorry to have bothered(打擾) you. (And then the headwaiter moves to another table with a vacant seat.) Headwaiter: Excuse me, sir. Is the seat taken(有人坐)? Guest C: No, I just sit by myself.
