  2. Hunting ~ The Mohawk Indians hunted deer, rabbits, and buffalo ~ They used bow and arrows, knives, and many other weapons ~ Boys were not allowed to hunt until they were old enough

  3. Sled Dogs ~The Mohawk Indians used snow dogs attached to sleds to hunt and travel in the winter

  4. Homes ~ The Mohawk Indians lived in Long houses ~ The long houses were made of wood and animal hide

  5. Beliefs/ceremonies ~One ceremony they did was throwing tobacco on a fire and dancing around it on the first thunderstorm of the year. ~Another thing that they did was bowing down and talking to an animal after they killed it.

  6. Location The Mohawk Indians lived in the eastern woodland near lake Ontario This is the area where most Mohawk tribes were located

  7. Farming ~ The Mohawk Indians farmed corn, beans, and squash ~ The women of the tribe were the ones who did the farming
