  3. More About Me • Born and raised in Quitman, GA • 3 daughters • 1 husband • 1 dog • softball, basketball, soccer, piano, reading

  4. Class Mission • To provide opportunities for students to learn strategies, gain knowledge, and think critically and creatively to be successful in school and in their community.

  5. What’s to Learn – course outline • Reading strategies - FCAT practice, informational articles, techniques used by writers • Writing – the writing process, essays, summaries, Holt online scoring, comparisons, Florida Writes practice • Listening, Viewing, Speaking – media, technology, oral presentations • Language – vocabulary, capitalization, punctuation, grammar • Literature – literary selections, literary elements, novels, plays, etc.

  9. Class Procedures • Enter Class quietly • Go to your assigned seat • Get materials out and ready • Copy agenda & homework into your planner • As music plays, complete warm up activity • Wait quietly for further instructions
