1. 1-st quarter of 2005 February 11th, 2005: One Full Year without Accident at Devnya Cement plant Bulgaria Devnya Cement Vulkan Devnya Cement AD has completed its first “One Full Year without accident”, which means One Year without a lost time injury in that plant of Italcementi group - Bulgaria. At the end of March the days without accident are as follows: 609for Vulkan AD and 414 for Devnya Cement AD. New New Collective Protective Equipments at Vulkan AD Safety Policy at Devnya Limestone AD In 2005, a major priority in the field of Safety, is the implementation of the Italcementi Safety Policy in our joint venture with Solvay Sodi, Devnya Limestone AD. In order to involve the Management, to initiate and coordinate the activities of “Zero accident program” implementation, and to solve all arising problems, a Safety Committee was established on January 31st, 2005.The first Safety meeting was held on March 21st, 2005.Some of the issues discussed were as follows: Safety audits organization and performance, accident and incident investigation system, as well Training organization in order to spread to all the staff the Italcementi group approach “To live Safety”. The three half-day training sessions took place at Devnya Cement plant, in March. The training was attended by 50 persons.The participants proved positive behavior and took an active part in discussing the viewed issues presented by Devnya Cement Safety Team.
