  11. Pre Install Checklist • Verify library is running the latest firmware. • Verify you have downloaded the latest version of NeoCenter / Neo8000Center Software. • Make sure you have a Neo Series serial cable. • Review installation instructions found in the Users Manual

  12. Install Hardware • Review install instructions in the manual. Neo 2000/4000 (Page 201) Neo 8000 (Page 159) • Power off the unit. • Install router(‘s) and partition cards. • Connect SCSI and ethernet cables, and SCSI terminators. • Connect serial cable to master library controller card.

  13. Install Software • Review partition instructions in the manual. Neo 2000/4000 (Page 126) Neo 8000 (Page 120) • Run Neo Center or Neo8000Center and connect. • Enable Partitioning. Follow prompts including reboot. • Wait until Library is completely Initialized before continuing on to the next step. • Configure partitions. Follow prompts including reboot. • Verify partitions are setup correctly.

Things to Know • Neo 8000 LPO has a limitation of 4 drawers (240 slots) - Runs out of memory • Neo 8000 Main Library controller does not have any memory issues • Can use partitioning without a LPO card to shrink the number of slots (like reserved slots). Good for software licensed by number of slots. • Minimum one drive and one magazine per partition. • Maximum 15 LPO cards – Neo 2000/4000. • Maximum 5 LPO cards – Neo 8000. - At least 1 drive and 1 drawer per partition. • Neo 2000/4000 router requests Network Time Protocol.
