NFHCA Membership • www.nfhca.org • Coaches’ need to become members of the NFHCA in order for us to nominate Suffolk County players for All-Region and All-American status. • See website for membership benefits which include coaching conferences, clinics, drills, etc. • It is imperative that ALL head coaches become members.
Rosters • All spelling errors with be the responsibility of the Coach, not the SCFHCA officers • These rosters are used in the creation of Post-Season Award Plaques and all SCFHCA pamphlets • DUE DATE: September 6thNO EXCEPTIONS • Rosters will be submitted on the Google Sheet that will be emailed to each Head Coach. Be sure to insert your team’s information under the correct heading. • NEW: Parent EMAIL addresses are required this year for each player on a separate form. We need these for SCFHCA Camp mailing. They will be removed from your roster once we have them.

PLAYER AWARD SELECTION • At the conclusion of your season, your division rep will be sending you a document to fill out. • This document will include: • List the TOP player from each of the seven teams you played this season, as well as the TOP player from your team. • Rank all goalkeepers that you faced this past season. • Coaches must meet after the game, to discuss statistics and highlighted players. • Be sure toto take good notes, make notations in your book, and keep accurate statsitics for possible future discussion at the end of the year division meeting.
Exceptional Senior Awards • Board and Division Representatives will be responsible for reading and ranking applications prior to theirthe end of the year meeting • As in the past, all applications will be anonymous and winners will be selected on the merit of the information presented • Exceptional Senior Award Winners will have their names presented on screen at the Awards Dinner Nancy Cole Award • Nancy Cole Award Criteria will be presented on screen at the Awards Dinner. The winner will have their name presented on screen at the Awards Dinner.
Post Season Award Selection Meeting • Meeting will take place later after the 1st Playoff Game • Tentatively: Division 1 & 2 End of Season Meeting/Seeding will take place together • DATEand LOCATION: TBA
Playoffs • A, B, and C school’s playoff seeding’s are determined by final record
Hosting Championships • November 4 or 5: Regional Championship. • We are hosting @ Half Hollow Hills? • Each division must provide 2-4 volunteers
Senior Game • North vs. South • Coach of the Year Selections will coach North and South Squads • Tentative Date: November 9, 2017 • Each team will nominate one Senior Field Player • Nominate one Goalkeeper if eligible • Coaches MUSTprovide stats to support nomination/post-season awards will also be considered for selection • 4 goalkeepers will be selected: 2 per team Donations will be collected to support a local Veteran’s organization
Coach of the Year When nominating a head coach please take the following into consideration: • Knowledge of the game (rules, systems, coaching philosophy) • Rapport with the team (respect of the players) • Team image (team conduct, style of play, performance) • Conduct on the field (positive behavior) • Rapport with other coaches (cooperative, considerate) • Rapport with officials All Coach of the Year Nominations MUST be accompanied with a rationale. This will be completed through Google Forms. Once nominations are received they will be presented at our End of the Season meeting to be voted upon.
Banquet • All-State award winners will have a write up read and their Name/Picture displayed. Pictures must be provided by their coach by the due date in order to be included in the presentation. • All-County award winners will have their name and school name displayed in the presentation. • Banquet Date: December 5th 6:30pm • Ticket Price: $40
Chinese Auction • In order to raise money for our Association to cover the costs of the All-Star Game, new Awards, Video etc… • Each team is responsible for creating a $50 dollar basket • Email Jenna Brocking (JennaBrocking@gmail.com) with your Team’s Theme for their Chinese Auction Basket. We will share suggestions.
End of Year Video As a way to keep guests engaged during the Awards Dinner we will be creating a video highlighting each schools performance. • Coaches need to provide a 20-40 second video clip of your choice that highlights something from your season • Suggestions could include: • Team Dance • Team Skit • Game Play (no goal scoring against opponents) • Video clip of still images • Coaches who do not provide a clip by the due date will not be included in the end of the year video.
Official Ratings • Your Athletic Director will provide you with your Section XI log-in information • When rating officials, please make sure you are specific with any issues/concerns • All ratings are *supposed to* be Confidential. This information is used when selecting Officials for playoff games.
Reminders for all Coaches • Dues $50.00- madeout to SCFHCA • Please fulfill your Coaching Responsibilities in a TIMLEY manner this includes submitting roster forms, nominating players for awards, filling out award applications/letters of recommendations. • After every gameWINNING COACH must report scores to newsday- 631-843-2820 (please be sure to get accurate names/stats from other coach) • Make sure you have adult timers for your home games/score keepers needed • If teams need Non-league and scrimmages-at the conclusion of the division meeting, meet in the back of the auditorium
