Laura Motes was born and raised in Elberton, Georgia. She graduated from Georgia Southern University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Management Information Systems in 1992. She then proceeded to attend Military Police Officer Basic Training, and graduated as the honor graduate in January of 1993. After that, Laura Motes served for twenty- one years with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department, rising to the rank of a sergeant, and spent ten years as part of the Uniform Patrol Division at West Precinct.

Laura Motes - Helping Community in a Number of Ways Laura Motes grew up in Elberton, Georgia. She attended Georgia Southern University. After her graduation, she immediately began to work with Athens-Clarke County Police Department. Laura Motes - A Former Police Sergeant Who Likes to Be Prepared Laura Motes is a native of Elberton, Georgia. She studied Business Administration and Management Information Systems at Georgia Southern University. Right after graduating from the university, she enrolled in Military Police Officer Basic Training. Having finished her studies there, she started working with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. She knows that rural Georgia is prone to flooding and other natural disasters. She has spent a significant amount of time preparing her home to withstand flooding, and other adverse nature conditions. Laura Motes went to school at Georgia Southern University, and received her bachelor’s degree in 1992. She then graduated with honors from Military Police Officer Basic Training. Laura Motes has spent twenty-one years with the Athens-Clarke County Police Department. She started her career in the Uniform Patrol Division.
Laura Motes - A Former Police Sergeant Looking to Become a Nurse Laura Motes worked for the Athens-Clarke County Police Department for twenty-one years. She then decided to serve her community in a different way, and chose to pursue nursing. She worked with Managed Medical Transport and Athens Regional Medical Center, and she hopes that this experience will be beneficial to her nursing career. Laura Motes is also passionate about animal welfare. She has been a member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals for many years.
