  2. Transferable skills Creativity, Autonomy, Leadership, Responsibility, Solidarity: are all values upon which entrepreneurial culture is built. Promoting entrepreneurship can foster attitudes, skills and abilities that are equally beneficial for tomorrow’s entrepreneurs as they are for future employees and citizens.

  3. The guidance oriented approach The mandate undertaken by the entrepreneurship awareness campaign can be directly related to the school reform: “guidance-oriented approach”. The Entrepreneurship Promotion & Awareness Officer will serve as an external resource to schools, in order to facilitate the implementation of entrepreneurial projects. This projects would allow students to gain aptitudes, skills and knowledge that will enable them to develop a vision of their future.

  4. Over the next three years, more than $20 million will be contributed to developing entrepreneurial culture among young people in Quebec. The measures chosen are based on three main axes: AXIS 1 Inviting school to participate AXIS 2 Creating a favorable environment AXIS 3 Disseminating effective strategies among young entrepreneurs

Inviting schools to participate • Designing and disseminating tools to promote awareness about entrepreneurship within the context of school curricula at the primary, secondary and college levels • Sensitizing school officials in the adoption of an entrepreneurial environment • Identifying and disseminating successful formulas that promote entrepreneurial values, attitudes and skills among young people • Inviting universities to participate in promoting entrepreneurial culture and entrepreneurship among young people • Consolidating the promotional activities of youth entrepreneurship networks during extracurricular activities

Creating a favorable environment • Creating awareness among family members, regarding the importance of fostering an entrepreneurial culture • Fostering closer ties between entrepreneurs and schools • Encouraging entrepreneurs, particularly family-business owners, to plan for succession • Consulting entrepreneurs on measures to promote entrepreneurial culture and to develop entrepreneurship • Fostering the involvement of municipal officials in developing youth entrepreneurship • Creating a network of resource advisors that promote youth entrepreneurship awareness all across Quebec • Promoting cooperative entrepreneurship among young people

Disseminating effective strategies among young entrepreneurs • Providing information and support services to young entrepreneurs through Internet • Promoting business networking to young entrepreneurs • Fostering better management skills for young entrepreneurs • Encouraging Mentoring • Supporting micro-credit projects for young entrepreneurs

  8. Impacts Entrepreneurship Promotion & Awareness Officers have been hired to work with Schools throughout the province of Quebec.

  9. Concrete Examples • Help with the Concours Quebecois en Entrepreneurship • Give workshops for free on a variety of subjects in link with Entrepreneurship. • Can assist or act as an external resource for entrepreneurial projects that are already in progress.
