  1. Oh Lord, It’s Hard to be Humble Matthew 6:1-4

  2. Conceding your Reward • “Beware of practicing your righteousness….otherwise you have no reward…” • Avow righteousness • Avoid ‘showboating’ • Acknowledge the Father

  3. Cheapening your Reward • Openhandedness assumed • Opulent attention • On-sale award

  4. Confirming your Reward • “But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.” • Silence is golden • "...there is no limit to what a man can do or where he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit.“ • Ronald Reagan January 21st 1981 • Secrecy is divine

  5. Things to remember and do • 1. Decide today you will concede the praise of man in this life so you can receive the reward God has for you and, who knows, He may not wait till you get to heaven. • Practicing righteousness and being generous are divine assumptions. God expects these things from His people. • Its up to the individual to determine who gets the credit for good works and generosity. It will be up to God to determine what level of reward an individual receives – earthly or eternal. • The whole matter of who gets the glory is an issue of the heart. You must decide today if your heart yearns for man’s praise or is your heart satisfied with knowing God is completely aware of what goes on in secret. • AMEN
