  2. WHAT? The ACT is a national college admissions examination that consists of subject area tests in: ACT results are accepted by all four-year colleges and universities in the U.S. It is also used in community colleges. The ACT includes 215 multiple-choice questions and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes to complete, including a short break (or just over four hours if you are taking the ACT Plus Writing). Actual testing time is 2 hours and 55 minutes (plus 30 minutes if you are taking the ACT Plus Writing). English, Mathematics, Reading,Science The ACT Plus Writing includes the four subject area tests plus a 30-minute Writing Test. 2

  6. ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks EXPLORE 50% chance of achieving a B or higher or about a 75% chance of achieving a C or higher in the corresponding credit-bearing college course

Students who meet ACT’s College Readiness Benchmarks are: substantially more likely to enroll in college less likely to need remediation more likely to achieve a grade of B or higher in specific college courses More likely to re-enroll at the same postsecondary institution their second year More likely to persist to degree completion

The system is a fully aligned, research-based solution.
