  8. My Research Question What is the best design for the new Major League ball park in Washington D.C.? Internship at: Garyland Architects Inc.

  9. What to do? • I came into class wanting to study something with architecture and sports.

  10. Different Routes • Just study architecture • Combine architecture and sports • Many different architecture jobs • Many different sports jobs • I love to visit baseball parks

  11. Narrowing to My Topic • Finally decided on MLB parks & architecture… • I love baseball. • I have a passion for architecture. • The other sports stadiums are too much alike. • THE OVER-AMBITIOUS STAGE: Build my own park and submit the plan.

  15. What have I done? • Visited UMBC Library with my class • Met DC Mayor Fentress • Gave a presentation to Stan Kasten, VP for the Nationals

  16. Plans for the future… • Write my own original architectural plan for a minor league park in Florida • Make a model of the park • Attend architects of America meetings to network
