HQ Update/Review: Panther Prep • Academic Program consisting of a series of worksheets, evaluations, and resources • Catered to individual participants and scholarship chairs to improve the overall academics in chapters • Developed in response proposal adopted at the Convention 2012 to increase individual GPA from 2.5 to 2.6 beginning Fall 2013

HQ Update/Review: Panther Prep • Pilot Phase – try out + data gathering • Total Number of Registered Participants = 352 (72 from Western Region) • Total Number of Registered Entities = 47 (10 Entities from Western Region) • Incentives given to entities and individuals who successfully complete pilot phase + raise GPAs • Social Media incorporation • Twitter & Instagram: #pantherprep

National Retreat 2013 • June 13-15, 2013 at the University of Minnesota. • Registration is now available on the Online Community • Two delegates per chapter/colony are required to attend. • Registration is $325 per delegate and will include 5 meals and lodging at the university. • Campus Funds Memo to request funding from your university can be located in the Resource Center of the Online Community. • Advisor Track  for Alumni Chapter Advisors

Communicating with HQ Document everything! • Make sure Regional Director is cc’d on emails • Take screen shots of confirmations of paperwork submission and save them • Use certified mail when mailing things to HQ to have proof you sent things in • Send email follow ups to phone conversations with HQ staff to make sure you stay on the same page

  28. Program Activity • You will be building your own program. • You have 2 months. • As a group you must • Name your school • Name your chapter • Have a set Location, Date & Time

Program Activity Rules • Be on campus • Not be a party • Attract whole community, not just Greeks • Chapter sisters can’t pay for it out of pocket • Must be educational/as well as entertaining • Everyone in the “chapter” must have a duty in the planning of the program • Have realistic expectations of sisters time contribution

Program Activity Presentation • As a “chapter” you must let us know • The restrictions that were given to you, explanation of your campus, school support, and amount A.S. gave to your event. • What your program is about? • Who is in charge/committee head? • Who is part of the committee? What are there duties? • How you are funding it? • Given the information from scenario compile a realistic budget for your event? • Design a strategy on how to market the event on campus, community, Greeks outside of campus, and sisters • How are you getting other organizations, chapters, alumnae involved? • Design a strategy for gaining support from other chapters, organizations, Alumnae, and community • Your event design must include an educational component that highlights a public speaking opportunity for a chapter member, and includes visual aids, and educational handouts. How will you do that? • How you broke down the planning/duties in a time line.

Chapter Expectations • In small groups answer the following: • Have you ever seen these behaviors from people in your chapter? • How do these types of behaviors affect morale. • Make a list of 5 ways you can strengthen your chapter/organization. • Have an explanation for why you picked those 5 things.

Sisterhood Enhancement Committee • What is SEC? • Monitors chapter relations in accordance with Sorority values • Maintain harmony among members • Who is SEC? • Subcommittee of the President • Comprised of the Chapter Advisor, VP of Program Development, VP of Chapter Operations, and elected member of each undergrad line; if not available work with what you have • Trained from previous committee • When does the SEC meet? • Minimum of twice per month • Special circumstances may require additional meetings

Sisterhood Enhancement Committee • Why hold a SEC hearing? • To address a situation or incident that violates SLG standards • How does SEC work? • Initial meeting when the complaint or problem arises • Time to discuss the complaint/problem, gather facts, answer questions, and give opportunity for a response by the involved member(s). • President and Chapter Advisor discuss further action to be taken • Options: No further action, handle administratively, mediation, referred to SEC for a standards hearing with sanctions issued • Notification is given in writing to the member
