  4. The Common Core State Standards provide a consistent, clear understanding of what K-12 students are expected to learn. The standards are designed to be robust and relevant to the real world, reflecting the knowledge and skills that our young people need for success in college and careers. With American students fully prepared for the future, our communities will be best positioned to compete successfully in the global economy.

  23. Metrics of Success 1. Students at all grade levels will surpass state AIMS Scores in reading and math (percent proficient) 2. Students at all grade levels will score in the top 25 percent of AZ districts in reading and math (1,000 or more students per grade level) 3. The percent of 3rd grade students reading at grade level will increase (defined by MEETS/EXCEEDS on AIMS reading) ARS §15-704 4. Indicators for career/college readiness will increase 5. The student dropout rate will be maintained at or below 2.0% 6. The four year graduation rate will be in the top 10% of Arizona districts 7. CUSD will maintain its market share (defined by increased favorability ratings on the community survey and student attrition)
