  2. WHY is the Rotary Foundation deserving of our support?

  3. Why should we support the Rotary Foundation?

  4. It maims. It cripples. It kills. What does polio do? Polio is only a plane ride from the United States.

  5. Polio Eradication In 1985, Rotary International promised every child a world free from the threat of polio. Since then, the number of countries that continue to be polio endemic has declined from over 125 to just three.

  6. #1 The human cost: If we choose to control polio rather than eradicate it, polio could rebound to 10 million cases in the next 40 years. Top 5 reasons to eradicate polio

  7. Why should we eradicate polio?

  8. #2 It’s achievable: We have the tools to end polio and the means to reach all children. The new, bivalent vaccine successfully targets the two remaining strains of polio in one dose. Top 5 reasons to eradicate polio

  9. #3 It’s a good investment: An independent study in the journal Vaccine estimates the $9 billion global investment in a polio-free world will net an economic benefit of $40 to $50 billion over the next 20 years. Top 5 reasons to eradicate polio

  10. #4 It strengthens the system: Our polio eradication efforts have established an active disease surveillance network that is being used for other health interventions such as measles vaccinations, deworming tablets, and mosquito bed nets. Top 5 reasons to eradicate polio
