  3. What is a CPA? • Who can tell me what CPA stands for? • Certified Public Accountant • Does anyone have a CPA in their family? Maybe a father, mother, brother or sister.

  4. Who are they? • Chief financial officers • Advisors to small neighborhood businesses • FBI agents!

  5. What kind of skills needed? • Organized • Math • Problem solving • Writing • Computer • Listening • People skills • Like helping people • Like working with other people

  6. What do they do? • Work on computer • Meet with clients (people like their parents or teacher) • Prepare financial statements • Travel

  7. How? • College degree plus one additional year of study • Take a computerized national exam • Work with a licensed CPA for one year
