Circulation Patterns in Makassar Passage: Opened vs. Blocked Conditions Across Seasons

This study explores the averaged circulation patterns in the Makassar Passage under two scenarios: opened and blocked, focusing on both winter (DJF) and summer (JJA) periods. It assesses the depth profiles (0-1250m and 1250m to bottom) and illustrates how circulation varies between opened and closed conditions. Special attention is given to the Lifamatola passage depth and the overall impact on regional oceanography. The findings provide insight into seasonal variations and contribute to understanding oceanic processes in the South China Sea.
