  2. HISTORY OF UNHAS EDS • It started from all the people who loved debating in Hasanuddin University, and finally decided to make an association called HEDS (Hasanuddin English Debating Society). HEDS established at UNHAS in 2001 and finally became an UKM or officially recognized by Hasanuddin University in 2010 under the presidency of RiyadFebrian Anwar. Eventhough it took so long to become an UKM, HEDS already had a bunch of chievements and now, then HEDS is known as UKM DebatBahasaInggris (English Debating Society) UniversitasHasanuddin.

ACHIEVEMENTS • Top 20 of Great Serdang Debating Championship 2009, Serdang, Malaysia • Quarter-Finalist of National Universities English Debating Championship 2009, Surabaya, Indonesia • Octo-Finalist of XXII PIMNAS Varsities Debate 2009, Malang, Indonesia • Octo-Finalist of The 12th Indonesia Varsities English Debate 2009, Yogyakarta, Indonesia • Champion of The 2nd National Dentistry Debate 2010, Makassar, Indonesia • 3rd Runner Up of BAWOR CUP National Debate 2010, Purwokerto, Indonesia

ACHIEVEMENTS • Quarter-Finalist of National Universities English Debating Championship 2010, Yogyakarta, Indonesia • 23rd Rank of Binus International National Debate 2010, Jakarta, Indonesia • 17th Rank of The 13th Indonesia Varsities English Debate 2010, Bandung, Indonesia • Octo Finalist of 14th ALSA National Debate Competition 2010, Depok, Jakarta • Quarter-Finalist of The 14th Indonesia Varsities English Debate 2011, Makassar, Indonesia • Champion, 2nd Runner Up, and Best Speaker of Sulawesi English Expo 2012, Kendari, Indonesia • Runner up and 2nd runner up of Indonesian Varsities English Debate (IVED) 2012 hosted by Muhammadiyah Malang University

ACHIEVEMENTS • Quarter Finalist of ITS-Open English Debate Championship (IEDC) 2012 hosted by Sepuluh November Institute • Champion, Runner up and Best Speaker of Makassar Debate Open (MDO) 2011 hosted by PoliteknikNegeri Ujung Pandang (PNUP) • Champion, Runner up, and Best Speaker of Hasanuddin Novice Debate Championship (HNDC) 2011 hosted by HasanuddinUniversity • Champion, 2nd Runner Up, and Best Speaker of 2ndHasanuddin British Parliamentary Championship hosted by Hasanuddin University • Octofinalist of Java Overland English Debate (JOVED) 2012 hosted by JendralSoedirman University. • Quarterfinalist of BAWOR CUP 2012 hosted by JendralSoedirman University.
