  3. Why are things coloured ? • A yellow object reflects the yellow part of the white light which hits it. It absorbs all the other colours. • A blue object reflects the blue part of the white light which hits it. It absorbs all the other colours.

  5. Why are things black and white ? • A white object reflects all of the white light which hits it. So it looks white. • A black object absorbs all of the white light which hits it. So no light is reflected and it looks black.
