  4. MS I and MS II years • Get involved! • EMIG • National and regional professional organizations • College of Medicine shadowing program • Get a mentor

  5. Research is important • Anything better than nothing • EM specific research more desirable • Extracurricular activities

  6. MS III Year • Get as much out of your MS III rotation as possible • Show interest • Ask to do things • Start planning for way EM rotations for fourth year • Highly recommend doing one esp if borderline • Apply early • 1-2 rotations

  7. MS IV Year • EM rotation first rotation • Must impress on each rotation • Must get a SLOR recommendation from program leadership at each site • Other LORs • Minimum of 3 LOR at least 2 EM specific

  8. Apply early • Get all your documents into ERAS as fast possible • Most deadlines are November 1st, some 15th • Quicker info in, more likely to get early interviews
