  4. What can the Committee of Young Physician offer you Interacting with other physicians at a similar place in their carriers (Within 16 years of completing residency)

  5. What you can do for the ACP Be a voice Become part of the Council Recruit members to strengthen our voice

  6. Becoming a Fellow Be certified in IM or Neuro Active in IM, Subspecialty or Neuro 2 years post residency Active medical license in good standing ACP member X 2 years Continued professional activities like a CME student or teacher Involved in teaching, community work, or volunteer.

  7. 4 Pathways • Not Mutually exclusive • Published Academician • Multiple certificates and/or degrees • Active ACP member • Senior physician

  8. LEAD Program • Leadership Enhancement and Development • Must be a fellow • 5 of 7 CME courses • Participate in 2 pathways to leadership at local level • Serve on a national committee etc • Serve as a mentor/facilitator at one ACP event • Participate in Leadership day on Capital Hill • Demonstrate leadership in community: Work Volunteer, church etc. • Complete all tasks with in 3 years of first task • http://nhsc.hrsa.gov/

  9. Loan Repayment • Serious penalties for not fulfilling commitment • National Health Service Corp • Must work at a qualified Site • Award based on Number based on need • Initial 2 year commitment for $60K • Then year to year with varying amounts up to $40K/year • Tax Free
