  1. ELECTRIC BOILERS An electric boiler scores over gas or oil heaters as an adequate water and liquid heating device because it is safe, clean and quiet. Whether used in some industrial, commercial or home application, an electric boiler provides almost total efficiency in terms of the electricity used to run it. Where an electric boiler falls short is the expense of electricity costs to operate it. However, these costs can be mitigated by going in for an environmentally-friendly source of electricity. What are two things users must keep in mind while purchasing an electric boiler? ● One should bear in mind capacity, i.e., the amount of liquid the boiler can heat over any given period. Measured in BTU per hour, prospective buyers must know the amount of water a unit can heat and hold in an hour. The PSI rating, which is the amount of pressure the electric heat exchanger can safely contain is also important. Your vessel must meet The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) standards and any other criteria required for usage of the boiler. ● How does an electric boiler work? ● ● ● Immersion heaters sit within the water radiating heat. Electricity heats these components which in turn heats the water. A circulating pump feeds the boiler and a tube allows the hot water to pass through to the necessary location needing the heat. With temperature and pressure gauges, one can check the state of the water inside the boiler. ● The Thermal Effect Usually, water and steam are good conductors and are used in a number of indirect heating systems but, at extremely high temperatures, water and steam require extremely high operating pressures, too. With thermal oil replacing water and steam heaters, high operating temperatures can more accurately be achieved at significantly lower operating pressures. Thermal fluid heaters use specially designed thermal fluids or heat transfer oils and glycols that operate with wood fired, gas, oil or electric heaters. Liquid Process Systems offers heat transfer fluid filtration systems designed to keep your industrial thermal fluid heating processes running efficiently and accurately. Request a Quote
