  2. About Me • Using WordPress for about 3 years • moved from plain html/css websites • full-time freelance web designers • former teacher, former I.T. Director

  3. Overview • One Click Install • One Click Install (with options - easy) • One Click Install (with options - advanced)

  4. One Click Install(Good) • Webhosting account - with a one click install script like Simple Scripts, Fantastico, Softaculous, Media Temple • cPanel login credentials

  5. Check Version

  6. Path of installation Is it at the root or a subfolder

  7. Uncheck extras if necessary Check Terms and Conditions Click Complete

  8. Script installs WordPress, creates Database, Creates Admin account

  9. Copy info to a safe place

  10. One Click with Options(Better) • Same process but you create the user account and password

  11. Check Version

  12. Path of installation Is it at the root or a subfolder

  13. Click here to display

  14. Create User name instead of using default Admin account Change password if necessary but make it secure. Write it down.

  15. Uncheck extras if necessary Check Terms and Conditions Click Complete

  16. Script installs WordPress, creates Database, Creates Admin account

  17. Copy info to a safe place

  18. One Click Install with Options(Best) • Still taking advantage of Easy Install • Setting user account (not default Admin) • Adding a database manually

  19. Find Database Section

  20. name your database - lowercase

  21. Create DB User Different from WP User Add Password or use PW Generator

  22. Back to cPanel

  23. Check Version

  24. Path of installation Is it at the root or a subfolder

  25. Change default table name....

  26. Uncheck extras if necessary Check Terms and Conditions Click Complete

  27. Script installs WordPress, creates Database, Creates Admin account

  28. Copy info to a safe place

  29. Advantages • no FTP • fast • easy

  30. Keep in Mind • process varies from Host to Host • Write down information • Tighten security further....
