  2. Great Gatsby QW #2 • In their search for their own versions of “The American Dream,” each major character in GG responds differently. Examine Nick, Tom, Daisy, Jordan & Jay with an eye to determining whether each character perverts, corrupts, or purifies the dream pursued through the action of the novel. • Discuss how the home of Gatsby, Nick, the Buchanans & Myrtle reflect the personalities of their owners or renters.

  3. Great Gatsby QW #3 • Discuss the relationship of GG to Ibsen & realism. How is the novel modernist? • They were careless people Tom & Daisy—they smashed up things & creatures & then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, & let other people clean up the mess they made.” Is this a fair summary of Tom & Daisy? • The novel centers around 3 relationships: G & D, T & M, N & J. Compare and contrast these affairs.
