  2. Why do we use ‘used to’? • Describe a past habit or state which happened in the past but doesn’t happen anymore. xxxxxxxx past future present

  3. How do we form ‘used to’? (Positive form) Examples: We used to live in France, but now we live in England. James used to have long hair, but now he has short hair. Sarah used to eat meat, but now she is a vegetarian. Anna used to study ballet when she was younger, but she doesn’t anymore.

  4. How do we form ‘used to’?(Negative form) Examples: Anna didn’t use to eat chocolate, but she does now. Manchester didn’t use to have a tram network, but it does now. James didn’t use to have a cat, but he has 2 now. Sarah didn’t use to have a laptop, but she does now.

  5. How do we form ‘used to’?(Question form) Examples: Did Manchester use to have a tram system? No it didn’t. Did you use to play with toys when you were younger? Yes I did. Did Sarah use to eat meat? Yes she did Did Anna use to eat chocolate? No she didn’t.

  6. Can you make a sentence using the positive form of used to? Then Now

  7. Answer People used to listen to music on a Walkman, but now they listen on their mobile phone.
