Donor Coordination Survey for SPECA Region by Eurostat and UNECE: Key Insights and Purpose

Some features of the Donor Survey: • Launched jointly by Eurostat and UNECE • Includes statistical activities in the Western Balkan countries and EECCA countries • The first practice for ECCA countries, • Long experience from Eurostat for Western Balkan countries • The survey still to be improved

About the Donor survey: • Data from donors and beneficiaries • Completed projects: Completed in 2012 or January 2013 • On-going projects: On-going in February-March 2013 • Planned projects: Start March 2013 or later • Some projects might be left out if not reported • Some amounts in the survey might include components which are related not only to SPECA region, but to EECCA countries

  4. Purpose of the donor survey: • Allow better planning of assistance in statistics • To improve coordinationand avoid overlaps projects • To provide transparency for donors • To facilitate coordination of the NSS by NSI • To provide coherence and predictability to beneficiaries

Participants in the Donor survey: • Active donors in EECCA and Western Balkan countries • International organisation identified as possible donors • Beneficiary countries – EECCA and Western Balkan countries • SPECA region - Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan. *Some donors and SPECA countries did not report
