Major Concern: • JANET uses Teleglobe 2.5 Gbit POS circuit London to New York to peer with ESnet and Abilene at 622Mbit. • And KPNQwest 2*2.5Gbit/s for general access to the global internet. • Teleglobe (UK) Ltd went into administration 20 May 02 • Teleglobe will terminate its data and voice services on 30 June 2002 • UKERNA tested access to US via Geant for 24 hrs from 06:00 30th June • KPN-Qwest provide the transatlantic links for DANTE • 31 May 2002, KPNQWEST NV FILES FOR BANKRUPTCY • UKERNA are currently holding discussions with WorldCom and BT about supplying bandwidth on an interim basis • Qwest Provide ESnet and Abilene But … • May 20th Standard & Poor's dropped Qwest's credit rating to junk status!
