  2. Description • Bass fishing is a specific type of fishing where you fish just for Bass • There are three main types of bass in Wisconsin • -Smallmouth bass • -Largemouth bass • -Spotted bass

  3. License • In Wisconsin the only license you have to have to fish bass, is a fishing license. • Unless you are 15 and under, then you don’t need a license-a junior fishing license is $7.00

  5. Season • There is no season for bass fishing. • As long as you have your license, you can fish for them legally. • The weather for bass fishing can range from cold and the water being frozen over, to warm and sunny.

  6. Pros • Very fun and exhilarating • Exercise with casting, reeling, and moving from spot to spot • The thrill of getting a lunker

  7. Cons • Weather doesn’t always cooperate • Sometimes you don’t get anything

  8. Personal Equipment and Clothing • Fishing equipment-Poles, hooks, proper clothing, lures • Proper clothing for weather, temperature, and extra clothing in case of falling in water or other unexpected events

  10. Habitat • Weedy areas on shore banks with lots of structure under water • Move to deeper water in the afternoon • Eat frogs, crayfish, and insects

  12. Level of fitness • What do you need to be able to do? Cast and reel the line in • Take fish off the line • Know how to tie knots

  13. A day out fishing • Get your line and your pole set up • You find an area that is somewhat covered because the bass like covering • You cast, reel in, and cast again until the fish grab the bait or the lure • Stay and do the same thing until you want to leave or switch spots
