But signs are emerging that Apple might be loosing grip in the two Asian markets. Conforming to Reuters report, most of the well-off smartphone users in Singapore and Hong Kong are turning to Android handsets, mostly Samsung, rather than iOS of Apple. The trouble that iPhone is their desire to be different that causing them as weakness and in turn an advantage to competing device. Reuters states that Apple’s share of mobile devices in Singapore–iPad and iPhone–fell from a peak of 72 percent in January 2012 to 50 percent this month. As for Android devices, they now account for 43 percent of the market, up from 20 percent in the same month last year. Hong Kong shows no different aftereffect, iOS devices declined from 45 percent to 30 percent in a year, while Android accounts for about two-thirds of smartphones used. These findings are not surprising at all, maybe not foreseen but definitely not shocking. We are used to long lines for the new iPhone but we are seeing longer lines for the Samsung Galaxy S III and Note II LTE in Singapore. With the support of our familiarity, we can safely claim that the interest in the apparent S4 will surely come as another hit in the market for the coming months. internet technology by abney and associates

He has a B.S. in Industrial Technology and an M.S. in Industrial Technology, both from Eastern Kentucky University. With over 30 years in safety education, Mr. Abney specializes in safety management and research; fire, arson, and explosives investigation; OSHA compliance; ergonomics; and hazardous materials.

Abney Associates-Effect

http://www.abney.com/abneyeffect.html The Abney effect describes the perceived hue shift that occurs when white light is added to a monochromatic light source. The addition of white light will cause a desaturation of the monochromatic source, as perceived by the human eye. However, a less intuitive effect of the white light addition that is perceived by the human eye is the change in the dominant wavelength that dictates which color is observed, or change in hue. This simultaneous hue shift phenomenon cannot be measured by experimental instruments; it is only discernible in the eye. This variance of hue as a result of the addition of white light was first described by the English chemist and physicist Sir William de Wiveleslie Abney in 1909, although the date is commonly reported as 1910. A white light source is created by the combination of red light, blue light, and green light. Sir Abney demonstrated that the cause of the apparent change in hue was the red light and green light that comprise the white light, and the blue light component of white light had no contribution to the Abney effect.

The security firm reported uncovering the phishing scam in a blog post on Wednesday. The scam targets its victims using a bogus message masquerading as a security alert from a legitimate, unnamed credit card service provider. "In March, we discovered a phishing site spoofing a popular credit card services company that asked users for confidential information, allegedly for additional security," wrote Symantec's Mathew Maniyara. The message instructed its victims to disclose sensitive banking information that could be used by the attackers to illegally access their finances. "The phishing site prompts users through a three-step procedure for activating their card and adding higher security. The first step asks users for personal and card-related information," wrote Maniyara. "The personal information includes the users' name, date of birth, residential address, phone number, and email address. The card information includes name of bank, name on card, card number, expiration date, and card verification code." Phishing scams and attacks on the financial sector are a growing problem facing the security industry.

Internet Trolls, Scammers and Hackers Targeted by New Gloucestershire Cyber Crime Squad A NEW team is being set up to crackdown on cyber crime in Gloucestershire, including harassment on social media sites, hacking and internet fraud. Gloucestershire Police will be identifying and training a specialist network of its officers to combat the growing number of offences committed on the internet in the county. New figures reveal there were hundreds of internet fraud and other online offences against victims in Gloucestershire in the last ten months. The statistics show 89 people or businesses fell prey to hackers and 240 people were targeted by fraudsters on internet auction sites between April and December last year. IN addition, the number of people making reports of offences in which social media sites were mentioned, which typically include allegations of harassment, increased from 55 in 2010 to 2011 to 78 in 2012 to 2013. Between April and December in 2013, there were 75 offences involving computer software such as malware and viruses, 100 offences of computer software service fraud and 12 dating scam offences and seven lottery scams. Detective chief superintendent Bernie Kinsella said cybercrime was right at the top of the force’s agenda because of the increased number of offences and the impact it was having on society. “You just have to look at the number of people affected right here in Gloucestershire to realise how big a concern this is,” he said.
