Cross Border Coordination His Excellency public health Minister of Afghanistan and PAK had launched NIDs at Turkham border in Dec2006 • Synchronized SIAs activities • Both country are sharing data and cross notification of AFP cases • Conducting regular cross border meeting Provincial and regional teams are participating in the meeting • Constitution of 14 permanent vaccination teams at the borders

Recommendations • Sustainability of synchronizing PAK/AFG SIAs • Monitoring of the cross border teams early morning and after noon • Finalizing a standardized cross border team coverage compilation data format and monitoring checklist • Sharing information of inaccessible and uncovered areas • Sharing information of refusing community • Regular sharing of the lists, Maps and OPV Coverage of the border villages • Intensification of the SIAs Communication in the border areas. • Sustainability of the ongoing vaccination strategy by the cross border teams. • Cross border notification of polio compatible cases. • Regular cross border follow-up meetings
