  5. Professional Codes of Conduct • Some are Stated, Some are Not • All Professions Share Common Elements • Selflessness: Responsibility for Others • Expectation of Skill: Excellence thru Knowledge & Expertise • Trustworthiness: That Our Charges Can Trust Us • Aviation Has Another: • Discipline

Discipline • Following Prudent Procedure and Functioning with Others as Part of an Empowered Crew • Discipline is Hard Because we Aren’t Built for It • We Have to Work at Being Disciplined • It is the Opposite of Protectionism, which comes naturally • Discipline is Inclusive Because All Are Invested
