  1. LEADER GB – proposed actions 4th GB MEETING of the LEADER project Genova May 10th 2013 Alessandro Alemberti Alessandro.Alemberti@ann.ansaldo.it

  2. There are a number of decision the GB can take in this last meeting to help the continuation of the activities on LFR … - ELSY/LEADER information and deliverables - LEADER/BREST CooA – who is going to continue? - GIF request of LFR white paper – release of the work done in LEADER - How we can help to open a line of activities on LFR at IAEA ? - Any additional proposal is welcome….. SUMMARY

  3. As you know at the last GB meeting of the ELSY project it was decided to give the authority on deliverables and information of ELSY project to the LEADER consortium. This is because the consortium of a FWP project expire with the end of the project. In brief the proposal is: All deliverables and information of ELSY / LEADER project will be under control of the ALFRED consortium. Decision on the release of information about ELSY/LEADER will be made by the Management Board of ALFRED consortium. ELSY/LEADER INFORMATION and DELs

  4. All of you knows about the many efforts we have made to set-up a cooperation agreement with BREST designers. Till now we have no success. On the other end it is now clear from ROSATOM declaration that there will be a big advantage to exchange information with BREST since they are in an advanced stage of design. The proposal is: LEADER project will continue its effort to set-up the cooperation agreement. The activities will be continued at the end of the project by the ALFRED consortium. LEADER/BREST CooA

  5. The GIF-RSWG is proposing a white paper on each of the 6 GENIV systems SARGEN-IV proposed to help the GIF-SSC to write down the white paper The template for the white paper require the release of information about the reactor chosen as a reference and a lot of work to be done since the Integrated Safety Assessment Methodology (ISAM) must be applied. LEADER project used the ISAM (at least partially) for ALFRED At the last LFR-PSSC meeting in Paris the request by RSWG was discussed and it was concluded that: - no one of the systems taken as a reference for GIF activities already used ISAM. Application of ISAM requires a big effort. - The application of ISAM may play a key role to show LFR safety feature - I proposed to use the already developed material within LEADER using ALFRED as an LFR example. LFR-PSSC approved. - The LFR-PSSC reserved the right to review the draft of the white paper. Proposal: The LEADER GB welcome the request by LFR-PSSC and will provide the needed information on ALFRED for the white paper GIF-LFR White Paper release of ALFRED Dels

  6. At the FR13 in Paris last March organized by IAEA it was pointed out that the only IAEA activities on Fast Reactors are dedicated to SFR. From the minutes of LFR-PSSC meeting: During informal discussions with the organizers of FR13, it was realized that IAEA has no line of activity on the LFR. To initiate such a line at IAEA, at least five countries should express their interest to the IAEA. Each participant of LFR-PSSC is asked to contact their representative at the IAEA to consider sending such a letter NOTE: since IAEA need 5 countries a very important contribution can be made by Europe since each member state letter of interest will be considered as a separate request. Opening a line of activity of LFR will increase our visibility and so the LFR-PSSC will greatly appreciate your contribution in terms of expression of interest your contries. IAEA request on LFR
