  2. About Mrs. Skaff • 4th Year at NPHS • Schedule: • 1st Period: Geometry CP • 2nd Period: AP Statistics/Math Studies IB • 3rd Period: AP Statistics • 4th Period: Geometry CP • 5th Period: Cheer Advisor • Education: Westlake High School, UCLA, Cal Lutheran University

  3. About Geometry CP • 13 Chapters: • Parallel/Perpendicular Lines, Triangles and Quadrilaterals (Relationships , Congruency, and Similarity), Trigonometry, Transformations, Area, Surface Area, and Volume, Reasoning and Proof • Probability • Textbook • Online Textbook

  4. Needed Supplies • Pencils/Erasers • Calculator (Scientific encouraged!!) • A graphing calculator is not necessary • Paper (I suggest a spiral notebook) • Protractor • Compass

  5. Grading Policy • Grades are weighted in the following categories: • 20% Homework/Classwork/Warm-ups • 60% Quizzes/Tests • 20% Midterm/Final

  6. Homework • 30% Homework/Classwork/Warm-ups • Homework is assigned every day. • PRACTICE PRACTICEPRACTICE! • Students are typically given time in class to begin their work. • Homework is stamped each day and then collected in Monday packets. Late work from each week can be turned in with the packet for that week. • No late work accepted past the packet due date • Zangle is updated regularly!

  7. Electronic Devices • NO electronic devices (ipods, cellphones, etc.) may be out at ANY time. • Technology is a huge distraction. • 1stoffense: confiscated and turned into the office • 2ndoffense: confiscated, parent must retrieve the phone from the office • 3rdoffense: Saturday Work Study

  8. Tests/Quizzes • Quizzes may or may not be announced in advance • Tests will always be announced in advance • There are no retakes of tests or quizzes. • If a student is absent the day before an assessment they will be expected to take the test or quiz on test day. If a student is absent on test day, the student must be prepared to take the test/ quiz on the day that they return. • Students with extended absences have the number of days that they were absent to complete their test/quiz.
