  3. The B Ed. English specialist pathway A three year course comprised of Specialist English modules Core and foundation subject modules Education studies modules School experience

  4. In year one… Primary core subjects module (English, maths and science) Stories and poetry An introduction to children reading, writing, speaking and listening English specialists module in children’s literature and drama Developing English through school experience

  5. In year two… Primary core subjects module (English, maths and science) Non-fiction texts including digital texts An introduction to teaching grammar! English specialists module in literacy and children’s worlds Developing English through school experience Option of developing English through experiences of schools in the States, Finland, Denmark or Czech.

  6. In year three… Primary core subjects module (English, maths and science) Children as language users in school and out of school Readers and writers, listeners and speakers The assessment of English English specialists module- an independent study research project Leadership module-becoming an English subject leader Developing English through school experience

  7. And in addition… During the three year course there will be opportunities to: work with visiting speakers attend English specialist days and regional conferences visit local theatre productions work with local story tellers/ puppeteers/ authors
