  4. The procedure • Coaching Days • Workplan due (one per group) • Be ready with questions • Presentation Days • Some group presents • Professor Presents Case 1 • Student Groups present Cases 2-5 • Non-presenting Groups turn in Consulting Report

  5. Written cases: Advice • Follow the premise of the case • Don’t answer questions in order • Think about what’s important to the client

  6. Written Cases: Format • Transmittal Memo • May be single spaced, line between paragraphs • Include everyone’s name, the group number, an date/time of class meeting • Executive Summary • Double spaced, about a page in length

  7. Written Cases: Format • Body • Formatting: • About 10 pages, not counting appendices • Double spaced • Organization • Introduction • Factual Background • Sections that present your basic analysis segmented to suit many different types of readers • Recommendations • Conclusions

  8. Written Cases: Format Continued… • References • Follow a standard format • Appendices • Label Clearly for easy reference in the text • May be single spaced

  9. Written Cases: Hints • No Report Covers, just a staple or clip • Label all figures and tables • Technical material belongs in the appendix • Indent paragraphs

  10. Written Cases: Grading • Grade is for the whole group (with some exceptions) • Content grade • Average of case content grades is 20% of course grade • Writing grade • Average of case writing grades is 20% of course grade

  11. Presentations • Grading • Individual Grades • Some group issues • 10% of overall course grade • The presenting group does NOT have to turn in a written report that week. • The audience asks questions • This is the “Challenge Team” portion of your grade (5%)
