  3. To weep, is to risk appearing sentimental

  4. To reach out for another, is to risk involvement

  5. To expose feeling, is to risk rejection

  6. To place your dreams before the crowd, is to risk ridicule

  7. To love, is to risk not being loved in return

  8. To go forward in the face of overwhelming odds, is to risk failure

  9. But risks must be taken, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing

  10. The person who risks nothing, does nothing, has nothing, is nothing

  11. He may avoid suffering and sorrow, but he cannot learn, feel, change, grow or love

  12. Chained by his certitudes, he is a slave

  13. Only a person who takes risks is free.
