Sant. 4:4 “¡Gente adúltera!” No “adulterio” físico, sino espiritual (Mat. 12:39); infidelidad a Dios. • Introduction. A. James 4:4, “You adulteres-ses.” Not physical but spiritual “adultery” (Matt. 12:39); unfaithfulness to God.

  4. Sant 4:1-5 Amistad del mundo James 4:1-5 Friendship of the world • Dios es el marido de su pueblo (Isa. 54:5; Jer. 3:20; 2 Cor. 11:2; Efes. 5:26; Apoc. 19:7). • God is the husband of His people (Isa. 54:5; Jer. 3:20; 2 Cor. 11:2; Eph. 5:26; Rev. 19:7).

Debemos ser amigos de mundanos para ganarles a Cristo. • The friendship of the world does not mean friendship with worldly people. Christ was a friend of sinners, Lk. 7:34. We should be friends of worldly people to win them to Christ.

Muchos jóvenes rehúsan esperar, quieren el sexo ahora. • Not conformed to this world in its attitude toward drinking, dancing, cursing, porno-graphy on the Internet, fornication. Many young people refuse to wait, want sex now.

A. “World” does not deal only with drinking, dancing, cursing, fornicating, etc.

Col. 3:5, same text. What is covetousness?

Otra idea “absurda” (¿?): nos hundimos en deudas para pagar nuevo vehículo o muebles para la casa, o para la educación de los hijos, pero … • F. Another “absurd” idea (?): We bury our-selves in debt to buy new vehicle or furni-ture for the house, or for children’s educa-tion, but…….

Luc. 14:16-24, no asistieron a la fiesta; ¿por qué? ¿Es malo ver el terreno o probar los bueyes que compramos, o tener esposa? • G. Lk. 14:16-24, they did not attend the feast; why? Is it bad to go see the land or oxen you have bought, or have a wife?

Here is the heart of the problem: Matt. 6:33; 16:26, “what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world….?”

Hay tiempo para trabajo, escuela, deportes, vacaciones y viajes, pero no hay tiempo para los servicios. • TB is not tuberculosis but “too busy.” There is time for work, school, sports, vacations and travel, but no time for the services.

Tanta prosperidad, tanta tecnología médica, tanta preparación académica, etc. • IV. Never in the history of the church has there been: A. So much prosperity, so much medical technology, so much education, etc.

  38. Sant 4:1-5 Amistad del mundo James 4:1-5 Friendship of the world • B. Pero: tanta tentación de descuidar el alma, asuntos espirituales, edificación, evangelización, santos necesitados. • B. But: so much temptation to neglect the soul, spiritual matters, edification, evange-lization, needy saints.

En fin, tanta tentación de ser dominada por el mundo en lugar de influir en el mundo como la luz del mundo y la sal de la tierra. • C. Finally, so much temptation to be dominated by the world instead of influencing the world as the light of the world and the salt of the earth.

Sant. 4:5 “¿O suponéis que en vano dice la Escritura: El Espíritu que Él hizo morar en nosotros nos anhela celosamente?” • Conclusion. A. James 4:5, “Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, "The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?
